Conductive function

 Blending conductive materials

Our customer asked us to develop a porous component with a continuous protrusion shape that would readily absorb water. The component was to be used as part of a device to safely deliver a small current to non-planar surfaces. Our standard porous material is permeable and flexible, but is hydrophobic which was needed to be made hydrophilic. Conductive material were blended with the base blending material and special process was made to make it hydrophilic. The required shape was cleared by production by injection molding.

Background of challenges ;
  • Lipophilic to Hydrophilic
  • Improvement of conductivity
  • Complex continuous protrusion shape
Our solution and benefits ;
  • Conductive material was blended with the base compound
  • Hydrophilic was made
  • Molded by injection molding for the complex shape
