Your Technical Solution in Custom Porous Plastics
Yamahachi Chemical began operations in 1969 as a small manufacturer of plastic moulded parts for automobiles and electrical appliances in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture. Today, the company is engaged in the production and development of porous plastics and related components for customers in various fields.
In 1977, Yamahachi Chemical started its own research and development of porous plastics and established the manufacturing technology of porous material for pre-inked stamps, now known as “PE Flash foam”. At the same time, the company collaborated with leading stamp manufacturers to develop innovative stamp-making systems optimised for use with PE Flash foam. In the 1980s, we began applying our porous manufacturing technology to develop porous nibs for art markers. These products, still used widely in the global stationery industry today, are continuously refined to improve quality and performance.
Today, we operate research, manufacturing, and sales facilities in both Japan and China, supplying porous products to customers worldwide across a growing range of industries beyond stationery. Leveraging our manufacturing technology and deep expertise in functional porous plastics — with core properties including absorption, application and wicking — we continue to develop innovative products and materials tailored to our customers’ technical needs.
